Deploying a strategy

How to start running a strategy from the marketplace or one you built yourself, and what you need before you deploy.

Before you deploy

A deployment trades in a brokerage account, so you need either an open, funded live account or a paper account. The minimum amount is $200 for a live deployment and $50 for a paper deployment, unless the strategy sets a higher minimum.

Every strategy can lose money. A strategy’s past or simulated results do not guarantee future results.

Deploying a strategy from the marketplace

  1. Open the strategy and press Deploy, or Purchase & Deploy if it is a paid strategy.
  2. Enter the amount to invest and tick the disclaimer, then press Continue.
  3. Check the review screen and confirm with Deploy, Pay and Deploy, or Transfer and Deploy, depending on how the deployment is funded.

Deploying a strategy you built

  1. In the Strategy Builder, describe the strategy in plain English and press Send.
  2. Press Save Strategy, give it a name, and press Save Strategy again.
  3. Go to My Strategies, open the strategy and press Deploy.

How many strategies you can run

The Free plan allows 3 active deployments, Pro allows 10, and Ultra has no limit. Live and paper deployments both count toward the limit.
